The prolific David Olney infuses his live performances with an intensity that converts many new listeners into die-hard fans. Mr. Olney’s intelligent compositions radiate that same intensity and have earned a place as one of the most respected singer-songwriters in the world today. His songs have been recorded by Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Del McCoury, Lonnie Brooks, James King, Slaid Cleaves, Dale Ann Bradley, Tom Rozum, Ann Rabson, Keiran Kane/Kevin Welch/Fats Kaplin, Tim O’Brien and others. He has released more than 20 albums over four decades, including six live recordings, and performs worldwide.
His new CD – “Dutchman’s Curve” – was released in the U.S. in April 2010 on Deadbeet Records. In 2009, David released a Fan Exclusive CD – “Ol’ Diz: A Musical Baseball Story” as recorded with John Hadley and based on the play by Actor/Congressman Ben Jones. The recording includes songwriters versions of a work-in-progress about Hall Of Fame St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Dizzy Dean.
In addition to music, David Olney is a published author with a short story appearing in the “Amplified” (2009) book released by Melville House Publishing (a division of Random House). David has become synonymous with Classic Poetry as new fans have flocked to several of his stellar video recitations posted on YouTube, such as Coleridge’s “Kubla Kahn”; Brownlng’s “My Last Dutchess” and others. In late 2009, David began a weekly live interactive broadcast on Ustream.tv, sharing music, songwriting insight, good humor and wild stories.

Reggae Legend Sister Carol

An encore performance of sorts, Sister Carol returns after a 6 year hiatus from Dolores to finish what she started, creating mayhem, reggae roots style. Make no Mistake, this is epic! This must be a blue moon July because almost exactly 6 years after her last show, SC will return to bring the Ire feeling we’ve all been craving. Sister Carol was born Carol Theresa East, January 15 1959 in Kingston Jamaica. She is also known as the “Black Cinderella” and “Mother Culture”.

She is a Grammy nominated singer, DJ, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, educator and humanitarian.
Her odyssey began in the ghetto of Denham Town, Kingston in the midst of the exploding Jamaican music scene and has grown to become one of Jamaica’s top entertainers and a Global Icon.
Her formative years were spent at St Anne’s Primary School and Mico-Practicing All-Age School. Her father Howard East was a senior engineer who dedicated his life, to his career at RJR (Radio Jamaica Rediffusion), the number one radio station during that time. He was also a very important part of the Studio One and Treasure Isle sound.
He regularly participated in sessions with the legendary “Clement Coxsone Dodd.” These early influences not only left an indelible mark on her heart but also drew her closer to the infusion of the music industry.
At the age of 14 her family immigrated to Brooklyn NY in 1973. The thriving dancehall scene of New York City led this young rising star to a path that would acknowledge her talents with multiple awards, television appearances, sold out concerts and movies.
Following in the footsteps of her mentor and friend DJ Brigadier Jerry her musical career began after winning talent contests in both Kingston and New York. Sister Carol was offered an opening slot for one of Jamaica’s finest vocal trios, The Mediations who had been the harmony backup vocals for Bob Marley.
This opportunity opened the door for her to record her first two records “Liberation for Africa” on the Serious Gold Label 1983 and “Black Cinderella” on Jah Life Label 1984, bringing her greatest talents, personality and vibe to a wider audience establishing herself firmly in the dancehall/DJ movement. During this time she dominated the music scene winning the coveted “Best Female DJ” for 5 consecutive years from 1983 – 1987. With these accolades behind her she established her own “Black Cinderella Record Label” in 1989.
In the midst of her success as an artist she continued to pursue an education attending City College of New York where she obtained a B.Sc. degree in education in 1984.
A true testament of her resilient spirit and energy spans nearly three decades in a male dominated industry, Sister Carol is a trailblazer for women in reggae. Her music carries a social message for people all over the world. Her message is rich with cultural heritage and infused with a vital social consciousness that permeates every aspect of life in the new millennium. (Hence her title as “Mother Culture”) She has maintained a loyal fan base across the globe from Kingston – to Queens, Ethiopia to England, Detroit, Denver, East coast to West coast - Sister Carol reigns as the Queen of Reggae.
Her prolific music career includes over 12 albums/cd, a Grammy nomination for “Best Reggae Album” in 1997, “Most Outstanding Reggae Artist” two consecutive years 1997 and 1998, and “Queen of Reggae” in 2000 in Detroit Michigan, New York City Council Proclamation celebrating Jamaica’s 39th year of independence and honoring Jamaicans in New York for outstanding cultural contribution to life in the city of New York in 2001, Institute of Caribbean Studies Wash. DC – “Cultural Heritage Award for Excellence in Music” in 2004, “Lifetime Achievement” in 2008 in Columbus Ohio, “Roots Women in Reggae” 2009 to name just a few.

Brittany Reilly Duo

The Wed. night music series continues with Brittany Reilly. Brittany Reilly was born on May 22nd, 1984 & raised in a small town outside of Cleveland, OH called Bay Village. Her first music performance was with her husband Brent Hopper in Sept. 2005. Since then, she has played more than 525 shows nationwide in about 200 different venues in 25 states. Brittany has toured constantly since she first set foot on the stage. In her evolved project with the Brittany Reilly Band, she recorded her debut solo CD “Good Old Country Sound” which was released March 1st, 2008. Brittany is currently touring across the U.S. promoting release her new “Honky Tonk Home” CD which came out in April 2010.

Whoa! Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. This guy is for real, not from a can. This is organic goodness at it’s best. Lead guitarist for Richie Havens and an all around bad ass nice guy, come on down to the pub this Sunday to see Walter play and get to know him, in a small intimate setting on the back patio at your one and only Dolores River Brewery.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, now living in Savannah, Georgia, Walter Parks has created his own vibey atmospheric musical travelogue through southern swampy blues, jazz, folk and classical. Soulful vocal lows and highs rest atop a beautifully over driven vintage jazz guitar that gently cuts the fog of real tape echo and tube amp tremolo. Walter paints a sonic picturedrome of classic Americana landscapes that inspire the modern human spirit to find a place where it can flourish.
Taking full advantage of rare breaks from his touring work of nine years with Woodstock legend Richie Havens, Walter performs solo and with his electric bayou/ragtime band called Swamp Cabbage. Zoho Roots.
Walter has performed thousands of concerts all over the world from southern honky tonks to the Glastonbury Festival in England to Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden in New York. In the fall of 2010, the nationally distributed Wildflower records, Judy Collins’ label, will release Walter’s first solo recording.
